LEDS in LAC

This research responds to an initiative of the LEDS LAC Platform whose purpose is present a summary of the status of climate-resilient low emissions strategies (LEDS) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

ledslacThis is a non-exhaustive study of the efforts of several countries of the region on their progress towards climate-compatible development. Through primary and secondary information sources, the study provides summaries for each country with the general context of the situation in terms of climate change and an emphasis on the progress made in diverse initiatives for mitigation, including LEDS.

The analysis highlights progress in terms of inter-institutional coordination on incorporating climate change as a cross-cutting issue in national public policies, as well as the efforts being made in the energy and forestry sectors, among others.

At the same time, it emphasizes how the private sector is starting to play an ever more important role, through its initiative in participating in this transformation process and its contribution in terms of financing.

The management of Latin America Events Promotion (LAEP) provided copyediting services, design and mock-ups (layout) for the document.
